Happy Thursday lovely readers! Today I am sharing my thoughts on the YouNique Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes mascara. I was able to review this product thanks to a lovely co- worker. She was wondering if I was familiar with the brand and what my thoughts were. I mentioned that I had indeed heard of these products, especially this particular mascara. It seems that people have a very strong opinion about this product one way or the other. Those who love it, swear by it; and those who hate it.. well they REALLY hate it. So, I jumped at the bit to try this out to see why people love it (or hate it) so much. Keep on reading to se my results and read out my thoughts on this unique mascara.

First thing is first, the packaging is beautiful. The product tubes come in a protective case that closely resembles a sleek eyeglass case. In the case you get your Transplanting Gel, your 3D fibers and clear instructions on how to properly apply the mascara.

The steps to apply this are fairly simple. First you apply one coat of your regular mascara of choice. Once that one coat of your regular mascara is dry you then apply a coat of the Moodstruck Transplanting Gel over that coat of mascara. The black transplanting gel is just that, it does not add volume, length or clumps. This is essentially the "glue" and "seal" for the Fibers.

So once you have done your regular coat of mascara and then the coat of the transplanting gel you quickly begin to apply the 3D fibers over that fresh coat of  gel before it has a chance to dry. The fibers are like micro black hairs that stick to the gel and basically create micro temporary, extensions for your lashes. Once you have applied the Fibers you then seal them by adding a coat of the Transplanting gel over them. You may repeat these steps and build up the fibers to make your lashes long and thick. Basically, you may add as many coats of gel and fiber as you'd like as long as the last coat is a coat of the gel to seal your fibers.

It is definitely best NOT to apply the Fibers near the root of the lashes as the can fall out onto your eyes and be extremely irritating. Trust me, you do not want these little suckers anywhere near your waterline or tightine. I found that on myself they were fine when applied on the "top half" of my lash, more so towards the ends of my lashes. Also I found it best to keep a light "shaky" hand while applying the fibers to get a more even distribution of the product.

So here are some progress shots. I must honestly admit that I am thoroughly impressed by this product. I really did have wonderful results. I was not sure what to expect because to be honest, the whole thing seemed "gimmick-y". The truth is that while it has it cons (can be time consuming, may irritate some peoples eyes, availability), the results it yielded for me were truly impressive.

The first column is naked, all natural lashes. The second column is just one coat of Ellis Faas black mascara. The third column in with just one coat of YouNique Moodstruck 3D and the fourth column is with two coats of 3D Fiber lashes. I decided to stop at Two since I was very pleased with the look at that point.
I did not try this product on my bottom lashes. I'm sure it can be worn on the bottom lash line but I chose not to to avoid irritation or spidey leg lashes.

This mascara along with many other cosmetics products can be purchased through individual reps. My lovely coworker was kind enough to provide me with a link to her shop. This mascara retails for $29. They are also nice enough to offer options for those who may not be pleased with their results. I for one am actually impressed, heck even my husband was impressed. While I love playing with false lashes, this provides me with a quicker option for long, sexy lashes.

Have you tried this product? What was your experience like?
